numbers explained

hi all,

here is a blog which, finally, summarises the performance of a horse in a numeric value. without all the complications and parafenalia attached to it.

it makes life simple, for so many, because there is a simple figure representing the CAPABILITY of any horse.

each number that is given to the respective performance of the horse is what that animal has done in that particular run.

our blog lists the number for the required relevant recent runs. going back any further would be a wasteful excersise in the long run.

the numbers are calculated taking into cosideration the performance of the animal and the track condition prevailing on that particular day.

speed of the track on any given day, is very very important to consider the performance of the horse.

ANALYSING THE TRACK CONDITION CORRECTLY IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PARAMETRES THAT GO INTO MAKING THE NUMBERS EFFECTIVELY.

properly analysing the past performance of the animals give us clear indications of the capacity of any given horse.

very easily, we can summerise what the animal is able to do. normally the horse that is capable of doing the numbers which are relatively more than the other runners, does well in that particular race.

also we are clearly able to see if the animal is on the down slide or on the up slide.

a horse on the down slide, which has the ability and has done in the past the highest relative number in the field, can safely be ignored, as that horse will not perform to its best ability.......since it is on the down slide.

and any horse on the up slide mostly does its best number and might possibly attain higher numbers than it has acheived previously.

patiently analysing the numbers over a period of time would help in understanding the same. usually disecting the results along with the previously available numbers, gives a superb insight on how to analyse the numbers we generate.

spotting false favorites becomes very easy by studying the numbers correctly.

the numbers can be used best in baby races i.e. 3 year olds that have run in the past.

numbers cannot and do not get generated for first timers. the track work is the best indicator for first timers as you all must be fully aware.

but then the numbers of animals that have run in the past help with analysing how a first timer would perform.

we are in the process of bettering the system and tweaking it further.
any suggestions and opinions, however critical, are very welcome.

also ant questions on the reading OR understanding of the numbers are welcome.
you may site live examples and question the same and we would try and reply the same with a logical explanation as far as possible.

but then after all these analysis and studies, we are dealing with live stock, who like you and me have their good days and bad. they have feelings, moods, laziness etc like you and me.

good luck,
rb.

  1. Hi Rajeshbhai,

Kindly help me to understand ur sheet. What number we should consider..the last one or number of the distance it is running in todays race? Inspite of reading this post numerous times and dissecting sheet post race iam still unable to exactly pinpoint the method to use this sheet effectively.

May be a way of example would help me.

Looking forward for ur positive response
