Beyer Speed Figures ("Beyers") give a single numerical value to a horse's performance based upon the final time and the relative speed of the track. The higher the number, the better the performance. A good stakes winning horse should run Beyers around 100, champions will be in the 110-120 range. Anything over 120 is a tremendous performance.
I am seeing your blog from last 2 days and found its very good and new concept for me.
I have one querry in race no 2 Inspired Move and Sun Salvador run on 25/7/2010. In Beyer rating Inpired Move given 76 who is a winner and later given 80 who is behind the winner.
Welcome. Inspired Move has a rating of 76 for that last run & Sun Salvadaor's rating would be less than that of Inspired Move. However, Sun is better placed on handicap as compared to Inspired by 6 kilos. Theoretically, that would account for about 3 lengths in a 1400 mtr race. Hence Sun Salvador has a higher rating of 80, unless Inspired defies the same. As per Beyers, Sun is superior to Inspired by 2 lengths.
