I just want to know, in beyer ratings originally weight is not important. As you mentioned here, you are taking weight into consideration in your final rating.
Can you explian how much weightage you are giving on weight.

ReplyDeleteFirstly, i would like to clarify that there have been certain modifications that we have incorporated in the system itself so as to suit Indian racing conditions, with thorough analysis & valid theories, in the sense that, the basis for generating the numbers is same but is done in a more precise way.
As for the question regarding weights, the Beyer numbers were originally developed & were to be used without taking weights into consideration. However, Andrew Beyer himself, has suggested in the later half of his analysis that 1 point for 1 kg could be taken for handicap races, regardless of the distance. That was being considered in our sheets until the last month.
For the sheets that have been posted in the last 1 week, there have been some changes in the above consideration which cannot be divulged now, for the reason that we are still on an experimental mode. Please note that this experimentation is not deviating from the ground rule. We are working on a precise theory of adjusting points for difference distances, based on past statistics of course, because the 1 point for 1 kg theory does not seem to be as accurate as the numbers are. We may come up with something concrete in the time to come. I hope this clarifies.

There are few horses which are running on both days of the weekend, will the rating change with today's run, if so what would be affect on rating of tomorrow's races i.e Sunday. Will you modify as per today's run and post the sheet. Confirm.
